About Us

Who we are About Sahara Jan Kalyan Samiti Since its establishment in 2004, Sahara Jan Kalyan Samiti has been consistently working to uplift marginalized and underserved communities through impactful grassroots interventions. Every year, the organization supports approximately 100–200 underprivileged children by providing free school uniforms, textbooks, and educational materials, ensuring uninterrupted access to education. To strengthen rural education, Sahara operates community-based mini libraries and provides free coaching classes, enabling students to build a better academic future. The organization actively promotes agricultural awareness, environmental conservation, support for persons with disabilities, and livelihood skill development programs, empowering rural communities to become self-reliant. A key focus area is women empowerment. Sahara has successfully formed and strengthened multiple Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by providing training in health, hygiene, and income-generating activities. Today, 50 to 150+ women-led groups are independently managing their livelihoods and sharing inspiring stories of transformation and self-reliance. In the healthcare sector, Sahara has made a significant impact. Over the past three years, the organization has supported 1,000+ financially vulnerable patients, facilitating access to life-saving treatments. Through collective efforts and donor support, over INR 30 Crores have been mobilized to provide critical medical assistance — a mission that continues to grow and save lives every day. Currently, with the support of national and international donors, Sahara is actively working in the areas of free education and the fight against malnutrition. Hundreds of children are being supported with nutritious food, clothing, uniforms, and basic essentials, while vulnerable women receive clothing, food grains, and essential support for their well-being.
