The Nudge Foundation
The/Nudge Foundation is an Indian non-profit organization. It was established in July 2015 in Bengaluru. The foundation’s focus areas are poverty and unemployment in India. Some notable backers include US-based philanthropy groups The Rockefeller Foundation, TATA Trusts, Paytm, Nandan Nilekani, and InMobi. Under these impact streams, The/Nudge has uplifted over 15 million lives as of 2020, with over 45 corporate and charity partners and 2000+ donors, including notable names like the Rockefeller Foundation, Tata Trustsd Facebook, Amazon, Mphasis, PayTM, Nandan Nilekani et al.
About Us
Headquartered in Bangalore, The/Nudge is a 400+ people strong, Section 8 non-profit institute focused on building resilient livelihoods for the poor. Started in 2015 with support from Nandan Nilekani and Tata Trusts, The/Nudge is currently supported by 35+ corporates, 15 foundations and 100+ founding supporters Issue skill development ultra poverty gender inclusion financial inclusion social inclusion small holder farmers (income increase and market access) social entrepreneurship Action 1) 2-month online skilling program for underprivileged youth 2) 3-year rural livelihoods program for the ultra poor (agri, livestock and small business) 3) promotion of social entrepreneurship through The/Nudge incubator and The/Nudge accelerator, an SPV with the Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog 4) 18-month program for CXO-level executives with visionary state bureaucrats (currently active in Karnataka and Punjab) 5) 18- month grand challenge identify, promote and spotlight livelihood innovations in India 6) convening platform (Charcha) for the livelihoods ecosystem in India

Trained and placed thousands of underprivileged youth through the Gurukul Skill Development Program. Launched The/Nudge CSI Incubator, supporting 100+ early-stage nonprofits. Introduced The/Nudge Prize, encouraging scalable innovations in poverty alleviation. Expanded Centre for Rural Development, benefiting rural households with sustainable livelihood programs.
