About the Kokan NGO India Sulochana Project
Sulochana, implemented by Kokan NGO India in partnership with ISS (Integrated Social Solutions), focuses on improving eye health among rural communities in Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra. Many individuals in these regions suffer from untreated or preventable eye conditions due to limited medical access, lack of awareness and affordability issues.
The project addresses these challenges by providing:
- Community-based eye screening and check-up camps
- Early diagnosis and medical referrals
- Complete cataract surgery support for economically vulnerable individuals
Through a strong outreach and referral model, the initiative identifies patients in remote villages and connects them with quality medical care at the right time. To date, 700+ cataract surgeries have been successfully completed, restoring vision and improving the quality of life for elderly individuals and low-income families.
Beneficiary Coverage
- Direct Beneficiaries: Rural and underserved individuals
- Indirect Beneficiaries: Families and the wider Sindhudurg district community
- Location: Pan India (primary implementation focus in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra)
Project Sulochana goes beyond medical intervention; it restores independence, confidence, and dignity. The initiative reflects our commitment to accessible and inclusive healthcare and highlights why Kokan NGO India is recognized as a trusted NGO for health-based CSR implementation.
