About Us

Empowers marginalised communities through education, healthcare, and sustainable development initiatives SERUDS (Sai Educational Rural & Urban Development Society) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Andhra Pradesh State, India working for the welfare and development of deprived street children, orphans, destitute women, poor old age people and youth in urban slums and villages. SERUDS has been working since 2003 through its need-based programs focused on access to education, food, livelihood training and healthcare. We have received numerous Best NGO awards along our journey from the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, National & International Organizations, Voluntary Organizations. Seruds has been empaneled by Letzchange, Samhita, Give2Asia USA, Credibility Alliance, HelpyourNGO, VaniIndia, GuidestarIndia, iCharity.in.

Vision & Mission

  • • To eliminate the suffering, turmoil, and hardships faced by the downtrodden. • To establish a society where equity, empowerment, and justice prevail for all.
  • • To enhance the socio-economic, health, education, and cultural well-being of disadvantaged groups. • To implement these initiatives through a participatory process, directly involving community members. • To specifically focus on the needs of deprived and oppressed children, adolescents, and women.

Programs

Milestones

SERUDS's key milestones include establishing an orphanage and old age home, providing widespread educational support and meal programs, and receiving multiple awards, such as the 2009 Seva Award for flood relief work and commendations for its overall services in the Kurnool District. Awards and Recognitions • 2009 Seva Award: Received for significant relief efforts during the floods in Andhra Pradesh. • 2010 Intellectual Development Award: Awarded for the organization's contribution to social development and the progress of the nation. • 2011 Best Charity in Kurnool: Recognized for its services to the community. • 2018 Best Charity Services Award: Acknowledged for commendable service in education, old age care, children's welfare, and midday meal programs in Kurnool District. • 2020 Social Services Award for NGO work: Awarded in recognition of outstanding achievements in its field. Programmatic Milestones • Orphanage and Old Age Home: Founded and operates the "Joy Old Age Home" for the elderly and an orphanage for disadvantaged children. • Education Sponsorship: Provides quality education and support to poor and underprivileged children, especially girls. • Food Security Programs: Runs initiatives to sponsor hot meals, provide groceries to the elderly, and supply breakfast to children. • Women's Livelihood Training: Conducts programs focused on empowering women through livelihood skills.
