Global Compassion Foundation (GCF) proposes to establish a value-based primary school (Nursery to Class V) for underserved Chakma children who face severe barriers to education. These challenges include poverty, geographical isolation, inadequate infrastructure, and social marginalization. With an estimated project cost of ₹50,00,000, this initiative aims to provide accessible, inclusive and quality education while promoting cultural identity, moral values and life skills. The project will serve as a long-term solution to illiteracy and social inequality within Chakma communities.

Background: Challenges Faced by Chakma Communities
The Chakma community, particularly in remote and underserved regions, continues to face significant socio-economic and educational challenges. Many families live in rural and hard-to-reach areas where access to quality education is limited or non-existent.
Key Issues Include:
High Illiteracy Rates: Many children are unable to attend school regularly due to lack of nearby institutions and financial constraints. Poverty and Economic Hardship: Families often prioritize daily survival over education, leading to early school dropouts. Inadequate Infrastructure: Existing schools, if any, lack proper classrooms, sanitation, and learning resources. Geographical Isolation: Remote locations make it difficult for children to travel to schools. Lack of Holistic Education: Limited focus on value-based learning, cultural identity, and life skills. Social Marginalization: Reduced access to opportunities compared to mainstream populations. These challenges create a cycle where children grow up without education, limiting their future opportunities and continuing the cycle of poverty.
Problem Statement
A large number of Chakma children remain excluded from quality education, resulting in low literacy levels, limited employment opportunities, and socio-economic stagnation. Without immediate and structured intervention, this gap will continue to widen.
