The organization has two distinct areas of focus – clinical support through healthcare centres and community empowerment for long-term health sustainability in the region.

Swasthya Swaraj started to bridge gaps in healthcare among tribal populations in remote areas of Odisha, delivering affordable primary healthcare, conducting community health programmes, promoting health education, nutrition, and working with communities for sustainable change. Their approach is participatory, rights-based, and built on values of justice, equity, integrity and compassion

Our Mission
To empower the least and most unreached in society; to liberate them from ill health, illiteracy and poverty; promote equity and equality. They facilitate people’s movement for health via community action, conduct community-based research for tribal health problems, and ensure programmes are participatory, educative, and respectful of tribal culture.

Our Programs
Community Health and Primary Care
Provides primary healthcare services, preventive health awareness, screenings, and treatment access to underserved communities, promoting physical wellbeing, early disease detection, and strengthening grassroots health infrastructure.
Nutrition and Maternal-Child Health
Supports nutrition awareness, maternal and child health programs, immunization, and counselling to reduce malnutrition, improve maternal-child care, and promote healthy lifestyle practices among vulnerable communities.
Health Education and Awareness
Conducts community workshops, school programs, and campaigns to raise awareness on hygiene, sanitation, preventive care, lifestyle diseases, and mental health, fostering informed health-seeking behaviors in rural populations.
