Swasthya Swaraj
Swasthya Swaraj is a worldly, not-for-profit organization fighting toward making health a reality for the most disadvantaged and unreached. They dream of a people’s campaign for SWARAJ in fitness – a just and equal society, free from the restraints of ill health, ignorance and underdevelopment. Swasthya Swaraj has set up standard community health plans – Swasthya Swaraj Comprehensive Community Health curriculum in the tribal-dominated Thuamul Rampur distance of Kalahandi district Odisha, India. The organization has two distinct areas of focus – clinical support through healthcare centres and community empowerment for long-term health sustainability in the region.
About Us
Swasthya Swaraj started to bridge gaps in healthcare among tribal populations in remote areas of Odisha, delivering affordable primary healthcare, conducting community health programmes, promoting health education, nutrition, and working with communities for sustainable change. Their approach is participatory, rights-based, and built on values of justice, equity, integrity and compassion

Mission
- A society free from ill health, illiteracy, and poverty, where every human being lives healthy and happy, in harmony with nature.
- To empower the least and most unreached in society; to liberate them from ill health, illiteracy and poverty; promote equity and equality. They facilitate people’s movement for health via community action, conduct community-based research for tribal health problems, and ensure programmes are participatory, educative, and respectful of tribal culture.

• 2014 – Foundation of Swasthya Swaraj. • Started health centres in remote tribal regions with no prior medical access. • Trained and empowered local tribal youth as health and education leaders. • Scaled community-based health and nutrition programmes in Kalahandi.
Awards
Established two 24x7 functional health centres in Kaniguma and Kerpai. • Developed a cadre of trained community health workers (“Swasthya Sathi”). • Improved maternal and child health indicators in project areas. • Started innovative models like Gaon Swasthya Poshan Ghar and Health & Nutrition Promoting Schools.
