About Us

Samajik Vikas Anusandhan evam Parivartansheel Society (SVAP Society) is a registered, non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious, and non-political organization based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 (Reg. No. UK06008052020003831). The organization also holds 12A and 80G certifications under the Income Tax Act. SVAP Society was founded by a team with years of experience and a shared dedication to the all-round development of people—especially children, women, and the elderly. We aim to support marginalized and vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas. By researching local issues and involving people directly in planning and implementation, we work towards meaningful and lasting change. Our goal is to help communities become self-reliant and contribute to their own development. Our focus areas include - Health, education, and housing; Food security and social safety; Skill development and employment; Small and agro-based businesses; Clean drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene; Environmental protection and disaster preparedness; Protection of children, women, the disabled, and the old age people. We collaborate with government bodies, NGOs, educational and research institutions, and corporate organizations to achieve these goals. We believe that true community development can’t happen without active public involvement. It’s not enough for people to participate only during planning or implementation; their ongoing engagement is vital for the sustainability of any project. We will form groups involving women, children, adolescents, youth, farmers, and other stakeholders to ensure their voices are included throughout the process—from planning to monitoring and evaluation. These groups will receive training and support to address social issues, especially protecting women and children from violence and exploitation. Due to the lack of local opportunities, many families migrate to cities for better education, healthcare, and jobs. However, elderly family members often stay behind in villages, leading to loneliness and neglect. SVAP Society is committed to reducing this migration by promoting local self-employment and strengthening rural economies. Special programs will also be run to support senior citizens. Government schools are seeing declining enrolment. To address this, SVAP Society will work with schools to improve infrastructure, create joyful and inclusive classrooms, and support slow learners. We will run programs like libraries, reading corners, science exhibitions, and more to promote better learning. Girls' education will be a top priority to ensure they receive equal opportunities. We aim to link unemployed youth with income-generating activities using local resources. Skill training in agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, and traditional businesses will be offered. Women’s participation in these efforts will be encouraged to promote their economic empowerment. Our efforts in agriculture will include Soil conservation and health, Promoting organic farming, Efficient irrigation systems, Making barren land fertile and Modernizing tools and practices. We will support youth and farmers by connecting them to Farmer Producer Groups and ensuring storage and market access for their produce. This will help create local jobs and reduce migration. We will work with communities to conserve natural resources, improve sanitation, harvest rainwater, and manage waste. Our programs will focus on villages, schools, and health centers. We will also help communities prepare for natural and man-made disasters through awareness, training, and emergency response. Post-disaster support will include reconstruction and rehabilitation. We aim to improve access to healthcare in rural areas, especially for women, children, and adolescents. Special focus will be on maternal and child health, as well as issues affecting adolescent girls. We will also take preventive steps against diseases, epidemics, and pandemics.
