Operating across six centers in Noida and Bihar, it supports over 1,800 children, helping them complete their education and pursue diverse career paths while fostering a strong community connection.
About Us
Established in 1998, Vidya & Child is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children from marginalized communities through holistic, value-integrated education. By providing access to quality learning and nurturing environments, the NGO enables children to complete their education and pursue careers of their choice, from engineering to social work. With over 1,800 children across six centers in Noida and Bihar, Vidya & Child supports their education life cycle through schools, after-school programs, and continuous parental engagement. The organization’s efforts are strengthened by a team of 150 staff and active volunteers, maintaining a 50:50 gender ratio and achieving a dropout rate of less than 5%.

Milestones
Began with just 2 children in 1998 and now reaches over 1700 children across 4 locations. First centre launched in 1998 at Ambedkar Vihar, followed by additional centres in Vatika (2005), Khoda (2007), and Barola (2010). The After School Support Programme (ASSP) was introduced in 1999. The Foundation Programme was officially implemented in 2010. Initiated the NIOS Programme for overaged children in 2011. All centres were registered as formal schools under the Right to Education Act (RTE) in 2016. Expanded the programme through a School Improvement Initiative with EDMC in 2013. Arts and Performing Arts Programme was introduced in 2008. The Life Skills Programme was launched in 2009.
Awards
Child Focus: Maintained a dropout rate of under 5% over the past 24 years. Parent Engagement: Strong partnership with parents, with more than 75% PTM attendance. Comprehensive Learning: Provided 10 creative arts programs and 4 sports activities for holistic development. Gender Equality: Achieved gender balance with an equal number of boys and girls enrolled. Integration into Mainstream Education: 375 children transitioned successfully into secondary and senior secondary schools. Career Success: 276 children pursuing careers in diverse fields like engineering, fine arts, social work, and more. Financial Growth: Children earn 4 to 8 times more than their parents' income. Support for Siblings: Facilitating education for the siblings of enrolled children.
