Established in 1990, FFLV is committed to improving the lives of Vrindavan's underprivileged residents, particularly girls and women, by offering comprehensive services that empower them to lead fulfilling lives and become exemplary members of society.
About Us
Food for Life Vrindavan has been working in the Vrindavan area since 1991. Our work includes free meal distribution, cleaning and tree planting, paper recycling, organic farming, sewing and embroidery centres that provide training and employment opportunities for village women, as well as free education, skill training, and medical help to over 1,500 girls in Vrindavan, India. Over more than 25 years of grassroots service, we have witnessed the intense hardships a girl faces without education, with child marriage being the most common challenge, forcing her into an adult role at an early age. FFLV strives to keep girls in school until they turn 18 to prevent early marriage, and we also encourage and support girls to pursue university education if they wish.

A School with a Difference
“Education is the basis for a successful future. And we prepare our school girls for it.” The charity was formed 30 years ago by the founders with the primary objective of educating young girls. In India, especially in rural areas, girls are considered a liability. A girl's education is not a priority. As soon as a girl reaches puberty, the parents will marry the young girl without her consent in an arranged marriage. The primary aims and objectives of FFLV are to educate the poor girls in Vrindavan, empowering them to transform their lives and take their families out of the vicious cycle of poverty. An educated girl becomes integral to the social fabric; her learning and skills break the historical cycle of ignorance. A street kid growing up begging. The suffering is unimaginable, and ignorance and delusions make up their living habitat. She has neither confidence nor hope. Her life and the lives of those around her are ruined. A social curse which is perpetuated generation after generation.
