Child Support Foundation Medical Support program: Nearly 1.73 million children die in India every year due to a lack of treatment. Child Support Foundation works with children from the most marginalized, economically deprived families to support them in their treatment of critical, acute & chronic diseases. The parents usually do not have a required amount of money to spend on the treatment of such surgeries. Child Support Foundation sponsors the treatment of these underprivileged children and helps them to get back to their normal lives.

Healing with Hope: The Story of Our Medical Support Program
In the narrow lanes of a remote village in Madhya Pradesh, lived 9-year-old Aarav—a bright, curious boy with an infectious smile. Like most children his age, Aarav loved to play cricket and dreamt of becoming a doctor someday. But his world came crashing down when he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. His parents, daily wage laborers, were devastated.
The treatment cost was far beyond their means, and local hospitals lacked the facilities needed for surgery. As hope dwindled, a local health worker referred them to the Child Support Foundation. Aarav’s story is just one of thousands.

Through our Medical Support Program, we step in where healthcare systems fall short—providing critical medical aid to children from underprivileged backgrounds. Whether it’s life-saving surgeries, diagnostic tests, emergency care, or chronic illness treatment, our program is designed to ensure that no child is denied medical attention due to financial constraints.
Child Support Foundation Vision
The program began with a simple vision: every child has the right to survive and thrive. Over the years, that vision has grown into a nationwide initiative touching the lives of thousands of families. We work closely with hospitals, pediatric specialists, local NGOs, and government health departments to identify, refer, and support children in need of medical attention.
From cities to rural interiors, our impact spans widely. Our mobile health units travel to the remotest parts of India, conducting health check-ups, providing medicines, and screening children for illnesses that often go undetected. We conduct free health camps, focusing on malnutrition, anemia, congenital diseases, and developmental disorders. Children who need advanced care are referred to our partner hospitals, where we fund their treatment fully or partially, depending on the case.
Medical Support Program – Holistic Approach
One of the core strengths of our Medical Support Program is its holistic approach. We don’t just provide treatment—we follow through. Our support includes diagnostic tests, surgeries, post-operative care, medicines, counseling for parents, and even travel and accommodation for families coming from far-off areas. Each child’s case is tracked until full recovery.
Fatima Story
Take the example of Fatima, a 6-year-old girl from a slum community in Delhi. Diagnosed with leukemia, her parents were ready to give up due to financial constraints. Through our intervention, she was admitted to a top cancer treatment center, where we covered her chemotherapy costs. Today, Fatima is cancer-free and back in school, her laughter once again filling her home with joy. To date, the Child Support Foundation has supported over 12,000 children through its Medical Support Program.
We’ve partnered with more than 30 hospitals and diagnostic centers and trained over 2,000 community health volunteers to identify and refer critical cases. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our emergency outreach helped deliver essential medicines and oxygen supplies to affected children and families in containment zones. None of this would be possible without the support of our donors, volunteers, and corporate CSR partners.
