Digital EcoWarriors
This project focuses on educating communities, especially students and teachers, about the principles and practices of digital sustainability. By integrating green computing concepts into educational curricula, we aim to create a generation of environmentally conscious digital citizens. Objectives: Conduct workshops and training sessions for students and teachers. Develop and distribute educational materials on digital sustainability. Create engagement through field trips such as visit to e-waste recycling plant or volunteer for plantation activities. Create online resources and interactive platforms for continuous learning
Green Energy Reforestation
The Green Computing Foundation is leading a CSR initiative to generate electricity through biomass, providing sustainable power for data centers. By utilizing organic waste such as agricultural residues and wood chips, the project aims to reduce IT infrastructure’s environmental impact. The pilot project will establish a biomass plant near a data center, offering a replicable model for industry-wide adoption. Objectives Transition data centers to renewable biomass energy. Lower greenhouse gas emissions. Utilize organic waste, promoting circular economy practices. Engage communities for biomass supply and economic growth. Showcase green energy integration in IT operations.

Key Milestones & Achievements
- GCF is one year old and have already trained more than 500 people on Sustainable IT at both Academia and Corporate. Sustainable IT Centre of Excellence has been set up and there are members like Infosys, ModelN, Liveswitch, NTT Data, Etc.
