About Us

Bhumi Bandhu Sansthan is an NGO based in Chhattisgarh, dedicated to community development and advocacy for Adivasi and underprivileged communities. The organization addresses various issues, including forest rights, ration distribution, pension schemes, environmental conservation, health, education, women’s employment, and leadership development. It operates in multiple districts, including Balrampur, Korba, Raigarh, and Mahasamund, and works primarily in Hindi to connect with local communities effectively. One of Bhumi Bandhu Sansthan’s key projects is supporting the implementation of the Forest Rights Act and PESA in partnership with local communities and government officials. The NGO conducts awareness campaigns, like the “Hathi aur Aadiwasi Samuday” project, to foster understanding between elephants and tribal communities, and a health awareness initiative in Korba that educates women on reproductive and maternal health through street plays across 60 villages. The organization is currently working on educational programs like “Hamagudi Extra Classes,” an initiative focused on providing community-based education centers for children preparing for entrance exams in residential schools such as Navodaya Vidyalaya. They are also transforming these learning centers into smart classrooms across four districts to improve educational access. Bhumi Bandhu Sansthan receives support from organizations like the Azim Premji Foundation and Prayog Samaj Sevi Sanstha. It actively collaborates with local panchayats, Forest Department officials, and other NGOs to address community needs and expand its reach. Though still striving for broader recognition, Bhumi Bandhu Sansthan has made a significant impact in empowering tribal communities, improving access to resources, and enhancing socio-economic opportunities for the people of Chhattisgarh.
